Potato Tycoon
Idle Clicker
About Potato Tycoon
Potato Tycoon is an idle clicker about one very happy potato and the farm that grows around it. Tap the Big Spud and potatoes pop out. Spend them on a farmhand, and a little figure in a straw hat walks onto the field and starts digging for you. Keep going and the field fills up: wheelbarrows, sprinklers, tractors, greenhouses, silos, chip factories and labs, then satellites in the sky and a whole Potato Planet.
Every producer costs a little more than the last, so the question is always the same: buy the cheap thing now, or save for the big one? The shop shows how long each purchase will take to afford, a star marks the one that pays for itself fastest, and every row counts down to its next milestone, where that producer doubles. Goals beside the Big Spud give you something new to aim for every few minutes.
When growth starts to slow, replant. The field starts again from seed, but you earn Golden Spuds, and each one makes everything you harvest 10 % bigger for good. The Replant tab tells you the exact gain before you confirm and stars itself once a Replant would double your income, and the next run races past the old one. Spend spare spuds in the Spud Shop on perks such as a head start of farmhands or longer away earnings.
Close the tab and the farm keeps working at half speed for up to eight hours. Come back to a Welcome Back card with your harvest waiting.
Once a day, try the Harvest Sprint: 90 seconds, a small shop and three special rules that are the same for everyone. Tap fast, buy smart, and compare your score on the daily leaderboard. Share your result and keep your streak going.
How to play
- Tap the Big Spud to harvest potatoes. Quick taps build a combo, and 20 in a row start Hot Hands: the next 10 taps count triple.
- Spend potatoes in the shop. Every producer you buy walks onto the field and harvests for you, even while you are away. A star marks the best buy for your potatoes.
- Owning 25, 50, 100, 200, 300 or 400 of a producer doubles what that producer makes. Upgrades boost your taps or the whole farm.
- When a star appears on the Replant tab, replanting doubles your income: the field starts again, and every Golden Spud adds 10 % to everything you harvest from then on.
- Once a day, play the Harvest Sprint: 90 seconds, today's rules, and your first run goes on the leaderboard.

Tips
- Buy what pays back fastest. A cheap Farmhand is often better than saving for the next tier, until the next tier is close.
- Watch the "x2 at" number on each shop row. The unit that reaches a milestone doubles the whole row.
- Replant early the first time. A first replant at about an hour roughly doubles your income, and the next run catches up in under half an hour.
- Catch the Runaway Spud when it rolls across the field: it brings minutes of potatoes at once.
- Spend Golden Spuds in the Spud Shop. Spending them never lowers your income bonus.
FAQ
Does my farm keep growing when I close the game?
Yes. While you are away your farm harvests at half speed for up to 8 hours, and the Welcome Back card shows what it made. Spud Shop perks raise both the time and the rate.
What does Replant reset?
Your potatoes, producers and upgrades. You keep your Golden Spuds, Spud Shop perks, goals, badges, stats and your Sprint streak. The Replant tab shows exactly what you get before you confirm.
How do the ads work?
Ads are always your choice. You can watch a short ad for a Spud Rush (double potatoes for 4 minutes, up to 20), to double what your farm made while you were away, or for a Time Warp. Every one of those has a free version: a free rush every 30 minutes of play, a daily gift, and the Runaway Spud. A short ad may play after you confirm a Replant, at most once every 10 minutes, never on your first replant of a visit, never while you tap, and never in the Harvest Sprint.
How does the Harvest Sprint work?
Everyone gets the same 90-second Sprint each UTC day, with the same three rules (for example, Tractors make 50 % more). Tap and buy to harvest as many potatoes as you can. Your first run of the day goes on the leaderboard, even if you leave it early, and counts for your streak. Later runs are practice.
Can I lose my farm?
Your farm saves on this device every few seconds and whenever you leave. If a save can ever not be read, a copy is kept and Settings can restore it. Settings also gives you a farm code to move your farm to another browser.
What does Share copy?
The Sprint number, your score and your streak, and a link. Never your name or any id.
Design notes
Idle games are often criticised for ads in every corner, resets that wipe too much, and saves that vanish. Here every ad has a free twin, the Replant screen shows the exact gain first, and the farm keeps a backup and an export code. Producers appear on the field as you buy them, so you can see your farm grow.
Changelog
- Released: ten producers, eleven upgrades, Replant with Golden Spuds and a Spud Shop, 60 goals, 36 badges, and the daily Harvest Sprint.
