Parking Jam Puzzles
How it works
A parking jam puzzle is a car park packed so tightly that nobody can leave. Each car can only drive straight, forwards or backwards along the way it is facing. Swipe or tap a car and it drives out if its lane is clear. If something is in the way, it bumps and rolls back to its bay. The puzzle is finding the order that lets every car out.
Some parking games instead let you slide cars back and forth to free one target car. That style is slower and closer to a classic sliding-block puzzle. The drive-out style is quicker: a lot takes anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, and the fun comes from reading the whole car park at a glance.
What makes a good one
- Lots that are always solvable, with a difficulty curve that actually rises.
- Cars that are easy to read: which way they face, and which lane they need.
- Short lots with quick retries, and no ads in the middle of a lot.
- Something new every few lots, so it doesn’t feel like the same car park over and over.
Strategies that help
Start at the edges. Cars facing an open edge can usually leave right away, and each one frees a lane.
Check both directions. A car blocked in front may have a clear road behind it.
Find the stuck one. Look for the car with the most cars in its way, and work backward to free it.
Don’t tap at random. A bump costs patience, so trace the lane first.
Our take
Grumpy Lot is our parking jam. Every driver is in a bad mood and lets you know it with a honk. Cars leave forwards or backwards, every lot is checked solvable by a solver, retries are instant and free, and there is a Daily big lot with a streak and a result to share.
