Kitty Klondike
Klondike Solitaire
About Kitty Klondike
Kitty Klondike is the classic solitaire, made easy on the eyes: a solitaire with big cards and a large number and suit in every corner, readable at arm’s length. Large cards, four-colour suits and a left-handed layout are one tap away in Settings.
Every deal is winnable, because each one is checked before you see it. Undo and hints are free. Stuck? The Lucky Paw takes you back to where the deal could still be won.
Each win serves a cup of tea in the café, and cats move in one by one until all twelve have a cushion. It is a cat solitaire with nothing to buy.
Come back each day for the daily solitaire deal. Everyone plays the same cards, so you can see how your time compares.
How to play
- Build the seven columns down, one rank lower and the other colour each time: a red 6 on a black 7.
- Tap a face-up card and it jumps to the best place it can go. Tap it again to try the next place. You can also drag a card, or a run of cards.
- Stuck? Tap the deck at the top to turn over a card. Only a king can go into an empty column.
- Send each suit home to the four piles at the top, from ace to king. All 52 cards home wins the deal.
Controls
| Input | What it does |
|---|---|
| Touch | Tap a card to send it to its best place; tap again for the next place. Drag to place it yourself |
| Mouse | Click a card to send it to its best place, or drag it |
| Keyboard | Arrow keys move a yellow ring; Enter picks a card up, Enter again places it |
| Keyboard | D turns the deck, F sends a card home, Z undoes, Y redoes, H shows a hint, L asks for the Lucky Paw |
| Keyboard | P or Esc pauses, M turns the sound on or off |
Tips
- Turn over face-down cards first. A move that uncovers a card is almost always a good move.
- Empty a column only when a king is ready to fill it.
- Dig into the tallest columns. They hide the most cards.
FAQ
Is every deal winnable?
Yes. Before you see a deal, the game checks that it has a solution. Not every move wins, so plan ahead. For truly random deals, which may be impossible, turn off "Winnable deals only" in Settings.
Should I play Draw 1 or Draw 3?
Draw 1 turns one card at a time and is the calmer game. Draw 3 turns three, and only the top one can be played. Pick either in Settings. The Daily deal is always Draw 1.
Are undo and hints free?
Yes, as many as you like. A hint picks a move that keeps the deal winnable whenever the game can find one. In the Daily deal each undo adds 5 seconds.
What is the Lucky Paw? Do I have to watch ads?
The café cat takes you back to the last point where the deal could still be won, and shows the next move. One Lucky Paw per deal is free. After that, watch a short ad for another, or wait: it is free again 2 minutes into the deal and 2 minutes after each use. You never have to watch an ad. A short ad may play between deals, from your third deal on, at most every other deal. Never during a deal or in the Daily.
Can I make the cards bigger?
Yes. Cards are about 50 pixels wide on a phone, larger on a tablet or computer. Large cards in Settings gives huge corner numbers. Four-colour suits make diamonds blue and clubs green. Left-handed moves the deck to the right.
How does the Daily deal work?
Everyone gets the same Draw 1 deal each day. Your first try is ranked by time. Each Lucky Paw adds 60 seconds. Win on following days to build a streak. Share shows your time, undos, paws and streak, never your name.
What is the café?
Your wins fill a little cat café with cats, furniture, card backs and table cloths. It is just for fun: no coins, nothing to buy.
Design notes
Many solitaire apps shrank their cards and added ads after every game. We drew big, clear cards, check every deal before dealing it, and keep undo and hints free.
